Meet the team
Adam Ranson
Adam Ranson is a Global Learning trainer/ advisor. A qualified teacher, he has worked in formal sector and development education since 1985, coordinated Hull and Leeds DECs, written many Global Learning resources, managed successive curriculum development/ linking projects and delivered training in the UK – and with partners in Europe, Africa, South & East Asia and Latin America. He has also managed research and evaluation programmes, worked locally and internationally in partnership with other education centres, and with many BME & diaspora organisations, and taken part in education policy work. He is a trustee of the Zimbabwe Education Trust.
Sarah Fishwick
Sarah has worked as a Global Learning advisor from 1997 to 2011 at the Diocese of Ripon & Leeds. This involved devising and delivering teacher training in global learning and sustainability, including tailored CPD in school, training courses and workshops at conferences; Organising conferences and events for students; Writing, publishing and disseminating nationally guidelines on global education in church schools.
She worked as a Primary School teacher from 2012 to 2024, leading RE across the school and running Global Gang, an after school club which organises the school’s participation in activities such as Send My Friend, Eco Schools etc.
She has volunteered at Global Learning Leeds (then called Leeds Development Education Centre) since 1997 and has co- run Global Learning Leeds since 2024.
She has an MSc in Education for Sustainability (distinction), and a MA Development Studies (distinction)
Hannah Langdana
Hannah Langdana is qualified teacher and Global Learning trainer. She has worked since 2000 for York and Leeds DECs and as a Global Learning Schools Officer at the Dept of International Relations, Leeds City Council. Her roles have included running Global Learning schools’ programmes (specialising particularly in Active Citizenship) organising school conferences, international visits, developing classroom teaching resources, writing and delivering CPD courses, student workshops, global youthwork projects and public speaking.
She has an undergraduate BA in International Development.
